The Bridge turns two years old today and it is always a pleasure to take some time out and look back at just how far we have come in these two years.
We started exactly on this day in 2017 just to bridge the gap in Indian Sports.
Fast forward to 2019…
Today, we have over 1 million page views and 25 million impressions. Besides, we have got an in-house team of 15 employees and our very own office in Bangalore (and we are definitely looking to add more people!). We have had the honour of working with some pretty smart advisors and partners, who helped us in achieving our big vision.
To summarise, everything looks good and our growth is healthy, sustainable, and profitable. We still do zero marketing, and 100% of our growth has been organic and via word of mouth.
Looking Back on Year 2
The Bridge’s second year was an unconventional one, and in many ways, a transitional year as both the platform and the business took off. We raised our first round of funding, the website got a redesign. We fixed multiple functional bugs and migrated our server from one place to another. We went from serving zero users to over a million today. In the last couple of years, we scaled new heights as quickly as possible to keep up with the demand and updated our strategies. It has been challenging and difficult in several ways. We have often hit the low of ourselves, but we fought back, always!
Celebrating this special occasion wouldn’t be complete without highlighting two of our amazing well-wishers who believed in us – Narendra Firodia and Jaimin Bhatt. Along with them, there are two groups that we’d like to thank here:
Our clients: For all the companies (and many more that we didn’t get a chance to) that we have worked for. Thank you. Being a client of you has been stressful and tiring. But totally worth it. You have asked us the right questions and made us grow from nothing to a team of 15.
Team Bridge: The crazy individuals who have somehow chosen to love the company, appreciate the culture, and taught the founders how everything will be done. You guys have rolled out epic graphics, awesome videos, fresh articles, Facebook/Twitter posts and made the two years enjoyable. And your efforts will make the next four years even better.
We are nothing without our community members
The thing that we loved the most in the last couple of years is the beautiful community of Indian sports fans across the length and breadth of the country, who supported us and connected with us every now and then. We cherish this deeply. There is no way to convey our thankfulness without sounding cliche. Your messages, comments, and emails have made our days, weeks, and months. We have loved every second of your precious time. Your encouragement and compliments like, “good job, The Bridge” uplifted us. This community is precious to Team Bridge is a massive understatement.
What’s coming up next in Year 3?
Okay, we’re excited about it! We have learned many lessons in the last two years and committed many mistakes. While many social media platforms and users have fuelled a great deal of its direction from our approach, we want to continue doing what we are supposed to do and that’s stories… Great stories!
